Beverage brand, Jimmy’s Cocktails raised ₹14 crore in pre-Series A round

Cocktail in a bottle.

Sounds interesting yet something you haven’t heard of much?

Well, Jimmy’s Cocktails is doing that and more.

Founded in September 2019, by Ankur Bhatia, Jimmy’s Cocktails

has quite a story.

A few friends went out for a pub night in the suburbs of Bandra and Worli, suddenly the bars shut and the pub party became a house party at a friend’s place.

Enjoying the great cocktails at the pub and then coming back to the old school alcohol at the house, wasn’t something that the crowd enjoyed.

One year after that, the bulb just ‘tinged’ for Ankur.

That’s how the brand was established. To help cocktail lovers bring the bar home.

Jimmy’s offers Finely Crafted-Low Calorie Mixers, Infused with Natural Flavours.

Owned and operated by Radiohead Brands, the brand is run by Ankur along with his co-founders Mirza Baig and Nitin Bharadwaj.

Originally designed to support India’s leading bars & clubs to deliver premium cocktails with consistency, ease and speed – Jimmy’s now brings the same experience to your homes.

In March last year, the brand, raised ₹6 crore in a seed round from angel investors Keki Mistry, vice chairman and CEO, HDFC Ltd, Vinay Agarwal, director, First State Stewart Asia, Anirudh Somani, vice president, CLSA and Vidur Talwar, chairman T&T Motors, among others.

The brand is currently available in :

-6,000 retail outlets and wine shops in over 50 cities

-online marketplaces and quick delivery platforms such as Swiggy Instamart, Zepto, and Blinkit.

-D2C platform shipping to over 400 cities in India

The company raised  ₹14 crore in a bridge round ahead of its Series A, led by Roots Ventures and 7Square Ventures. Other startup stalwarts, including Vishesh Khurana, co-founder Ship Rocket, and Varun Alagh, co-founder Mamaearth, also participated in the fund raise.

The raised funds will be used to expand its distribution footprint in India and overseas.

Upon raising the investment, Ankur said:

“ When i started in 2019… all i heard was “india main cocktail kaun peeyega” …

Here’s a ???? to all those who believed and replied “india aur indians ki aspiration samjho tou sahi.”

He estimates the mixers category in India could grow to touch ₹7,000 crore over the next decade. The company is targeting the top 10% liquor consumers in the country.

As per a press release, Jimmy’s closed the last financial year with ₹22 crore in revenue.

Their recent collaboration with craft gin brand Greater Than, has been doing quite a few news rounds.

New products are in the pipeline and we can’t wait to see what all they have to offer.

Wishing the entire team, the very best in their journey ahead!
